Bikini Series Week 1

Well folks, I made it through the first week of Tone It Up’s 2017 Bikini Series!! Now only 7 more to go.

I want to try to do a quick weekly post each week to track my progress and just get my thoughts about the program out. And if anyone out there finds it inspiring or helpful, that is even better πŸ˜‰

The challenge kicked off on Monday, following a busy day of meal prepping on Sunday. I really stuck with the 5 small meals Monday through Friday easily enough and did find that I had more energy during the day. Yay for avoiding the 3:00 slump!! Weekly meals were Lean, Clean, and Green.

The AM Bootycall has been a struggle; I am just not alert enough in the morning to start working out right away. The one morning I tried there was all kinds of stumbling and just a lack of real motivation. I made sure to always do the whole day’s worth of workout but all together in the evening. So props to me for this; I worked out 6 out of 7 days for the first time in a very long time!!

Things got a little hairy over the weekend; it was my boyfriend’s birthday so we had lots of celebrating. Saturday I still had my 5 meals, and we took the dog for a very long walk (hello first sunburn of the summer). Sunday was a bit off schedule. I only had 2 meals and no workout at all.

Sunday I was able to squeeze in some simple meal prep for this week thankfully. Whipped up some egg muffins, coconut pineapple muffins, and pre cooked my salmon that I ate for dinner tonight.

First week’s thoughts:

  • Meal Prep is a savior!! I enjoy cooking and spending some time in the kitchen Sunday. It also makes packing my Meal 2-Meal 4 quick and easy each morning.
  • Make a menu and stick to it!! Karena and Katrina are nice enough to provide a little menu, and taking the 5 mins to fill it in for the week really helps keep me focused.
  • Some of the best advice from other Tone It Up ladies that I really believe: 1-Listen to your body and 2- Treat days, not cheat days. These 2 tips are key in keeping a positive mindset. There was plenty of times I had to sit out circuit or skip a move.


Final notes:

So far I am LOVING the Tone It Up community and program!! Everyone is so supportive and kind, and I am feeling great. There is always room for improvement and I am going to kick butt for the next 7 weeks.
